Environment

1. Reduce greenhouse gas emission

Impact: Aurora CC AB emits 10,83tCO2 (base year 2023), whereby far the largest part comes from air travel. Please find our latest NSRS Report here.

Action:

  • Aurora CC AB commits to reduce scope 1 and scope 2 GHG emissions 55% by 2030 from a 2023 base year, and to measure and reduce its scope 3 emissions. Our company commits to reach net-zero by 2035. As part of this, we commit to reduce scope1, 2 and 3 emissions 100% by 2035 from a 2023 base year.
  • Encourage the use of public transport.
  • Minimize travel and promote video conferencing.
  • Choose direct flights and lower-emission airlines.
  • Collaborate with building manager to choose 100% fossil fuel free electricity and increase the amount of energy coming from renewable energy sources.

2. Energy Use

Impact: Aurora CC Group consumes energy primarily through heating and electrical equipment operation.

Action:

  • Purchase energy-efficient goods.
  • Educate staff on sustainable operation of equipment.
  • Collaborate with building management to reduce energy consumption.

3. Disposal of Waste and Obsolete Equipment

Impact: Aurora CC Group produces both office waste and electrical waste.

Action:

  • During procurement process take future waste management in consideration.
  • 4R – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Recover
  • Continue separating waste at the source.

4. Resource Consumption

Impact: Aurora CC Group consumes various resources including office supplies, paper, catering, and cleaning materials.

Action:

  • Use suppliers with environmental accreditation or a formal environmental policy.
  • Purchase supplies, particularly paper, with strong sustainable credentials.

5. External Purchases

Impact: Aurora CC Group externally purchases a range of products and services.

Action:

  • Actively manage the supply chain to reduce environmental impact.
  • Encourage suppliers to provide environmentally friendly products and locally based services.

6. Client Sustainability

Impact: Aurora CC Group has a role in influencing sustainable decisions made by clients.

Action:

  • Offer environmentally friendly alternatives to clients.

7. Stakeholder Expectations

Impact: Stakeholders expect Aurora CC Group to behave in an environmentally responsible manner.

Action:

  • Make environmental performance available to those with a legitimate reason to know.
  • Seek external accreditation of environmental performance.

Responsibilities

Sustainability Group

Responsible for periodic review of performance against environmental targets, championing environmental responsibility, setting relevant annual targets, and integrating them into business planning.

Procurement Team

Ensure suppliers demonstrate environmental responsibility.

All Staff

Take personal ownership of the policy and support environmental sustainability within their sphere of influence.

Line Management

Ensure all staff are aware of the policy and their responsibilities under it.

Implementation

The policy will be implemented across the entire organization, with annual benchmarks set and measured to ensure progress.

Relevant ESG Legislation

Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive 2012/19/EU

Compliance with local legislation on disposal of electrical equipment.

Workplace Safety Legislation

Compliance with all local work and safety laws, with safety representatives in each office.

Bribery Act 2010

Ensure all staff are trained in compliance with the Bribery Act.

Procurement

Aurora CC Group pledges to:

  • Procure services and materials that reduce our environmental impact.
  • Use environmentally accredited printing materials and encourage sustainable practices among sub-contractors and clients.

Aurora CC Group is part of a DEFRA Sustainable Supplier team to regularly review best practices in sustainable procurement.

Review

Environmental performance will be reviewed annually as part of the business planning process. Aurora CC Group will submit to an annual sustainability report and conduct internal audits, particularly on ISO 14001:2004-certified sites. The policy will be reviewed for suitability each year.
